Book Me By The Hour

$80 per hour + Gross Receipts Tax for the first hour, then $50 per hour plus tax afterwards

(Prices assume Bernalillo County location)

• Background music for talking and dining
• Each set is 20 to 25 minutes long and contains two to four Italian, French, or German arias, art songs, or traditional music followed by solo guitar music
• Also I have several medieval and Renaissance ballads in English that I can substitute upon request. These include both Child ballad selections and pieces from the Robin Hood ballads
• The solo guitar music will be a combination of classical and Baroque music, show tunes, popular music, folk or traditional ethnic music, or whatever is appropriate to the setting
• Holiday music available on request
• Available in 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, and 3 hour increments

Wedding Packages

You can book me for as little as one hour, and you can book half-hour increments. Don't pay for more than you actually need and want.

All these packages and prices are for weddings in Bernalillo County only. I build my travel time into the price for the first hour. I do play outside Bernalillo County and even outside New Mexico, yet for serious driving time I would need to add my travel time and expenses.

If the time investment on my end is big enough and I have to cancel lessons with a student or other commitments in order to accommodate you, I will ask for a deposit. There's good news though: even if you're in an area where there's a higher sales tax (which is most of the state), you pay only the Bernalillo County tax because that's where my business is registered.

I am very flexible and can accommodate longer playing times, and also I can perform with another professional if you get me the sheet music. If you'd like me to accompany an amateur performer, I'm OK with that although if you need rehearsal time you need to book, schedule, and pay for that too. Rehearsal time is cheaper since it can be done in my studio and worked in around students and other performances.

For the most part you don't need to have your musicians at the wedding rehearsals. It's a waste of your money unless you have a less experienced person you them to accompany, who is perhaps coming in from out of town and who can't come to rehearsals at my studio where it's cheaper. But if it's something you need for your own peace of mind and you're willing to pay for the time, you can generally get it if you book well ahead.

Packages for Bernalillo County

One Hour Package: $80 + tax

• Maximum one hour of my time not including setup or travel.
• Intended for civil, secular, or religious ceremonies lasting about half an hour
• Five to ten minutes of background music as people arrive
• Processional ("Here Comes The Bride")
• Incidental music during the ceremony as needed (up to three basic hymns or popular songs in which I either play solo guitar or sing while playing. Please pick your songs at least three months in advance)
• Recessional
• Background music to use up any time left over

Hour And A Half Package: $105 + tax

• Maximum one and a half hours of my time not including setup or travel
• Intended for longer ceremonies lasting about an hour, or shorter ceremonies with a quick reception
• Ten to fifteen minutes of instrumental background music as people arrive
• Processional ("Here Comes The Bride")
• Incidental music during the ceremony as needed (up to five pieces of music in which I either play solo guitar or sing while playing. Please pick your songs and get me the music at least three months in advance)
• Recessional
• Background music to use up any time left over
• Customer may identify specific genres or musical themes appropriate to the setting. For example many of the most conservative churches do not permit secular music, and I can accommodate that.

Two Hours, $130 + tax

• For short ceremonies followed by an on-site reception
• Ideal for outdoor weddings, small and intimate weddings in the family home, or short church weddings with a punch and cake reception afterwards
• Ceremony music followed by reception music
• I support the ceremony as described in the Ceremony Packages, then move into the on-site reception area and begin to provide background music for talking and dining

Three Hours, $180 + tax

• For longer ceremonies followed by an on-site reception
• Ideal for outdoor weddings, on-site theme weddings, small and intimate weddings in the family home, or church weddings with an extended reception afterwards
• Ceremony music followed by reception music
• I support the ceremony as described in the Ceremony Packages, then move into the on-site reception area and begin to provide background music for talking and dining

Military customers, police, and fire fighters receive 10% off any package, as do nurses and school teachers.
